Saint Martin (Dutch Sint Maarten, French Saint-Martin) is an island in the northeast Caribbean (West Indies). Half Dutch and half French, the tropical 38 square-mile (88 kmē) island is approximately 150 miles east of Puerto Rico and a few thousand miles southwest of Amsterdam and Paris.
