Vancouver Island is a large island in British Columbia, Canada, off the Pacific coast. At 32,134 square kilometers (12,407 square miles), it is the largest island on the western side of the Americas. Vancouver Island is separated from mainland British Columbia by the Strait of Georgia and the Queen Charlotte Strait, and from Washington State by the Juan De Fuca Strait.
